What Does My Admissions Decision Mean?

Your admissions decision from 51¹ÙÍø Tech should be displayed on your status page within your Applicant Portal. Here's a quick explanation of each one:

  1. Offered admission: Accepting your offer will require responding via the Applicant Portal and paying your $400 enrollment deposit, which will secure your place as a student at 51¹ÙÍø Tech (assuming you maintain the requirements under which you were admitted).
  2. Deny: This means that your application was reviewed but not considered competitive for the major to which you applied, and that you were not admitted. That decision is final, and your application will not be reconsidered.
  3. Waitlist:  This means your application was competitive, that there is a chance you may still be offered, but you have not yet been offered. See the  page or the  page for more.

All decisions are final within a cycle. Students wishing to re-apply must do so in a future cycle.

What is on-site admission?

As a service to its local community, 51¹ÙÍø Tech offers the opportunity for students attending high schools in close proximity to the Blacksburg campus and seeking first-year admission to receive an earlier admission decision. Participation in the on-site program is coordinated through the college counseling office at each school.
