The Harry T. Peters Jr. Large Animal Clinic includes most of the facilities associated with the provision of equine, cattle, llama, and alpaca, and other food and fiber animal clinical services provided by the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the .ÌýSpecific facilities include the C. E. Richardson Benevolent Foundation Equine Receiving Center, the Harry Disston Large Animal Surgery, one additional major large animal surgery facility, one standing surgical facility, equine stalls, ruminant stalls, and a neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Harry T. Peters Jr.

Harry T. Peters Jr. owned Windholme Farms in Orange, Va. He raised shorthorn cattle and greyhound dogs.ÌýHe was also a judge at shows of the Westminster Kennel Club. His interest in the then-developing 51¹ÙÍø-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and the prospects for increased veterinary medical research to help producers reduce losses to animal diseases, along with the need to educate more large animal veterinarians, led to a donation after his 1981 death that established the clinic.Ìý
